Which flowers say thank you?

Can I give roses to thank a colleague?

What should I write on the card?

Can flowers be delivered to an office?

Send them to the practice or the department’s address. In a hospital, flowers are left at reception, never taken to a room, and some wards do not accept them, so ask first. A note signed by the whole family means as much as the bouquet.

How long after the favour can I still send flowers?

The sooner the better: the day after a dinner, the week you return from an absence. A late thank-you is still welcome if the card recalls the occasion. The calendar lets you choose a date up to 15 days ahead.

Who to thank with flowers

Hosts after a dinner, a colleague who covered your files while you were away, a neighbour who fed the cat, a teacher at the end of the school year, a practice or a care team: a bouquet says thank you without putting anyone on the spot. Two or three sentences are enough, as long as they name the favour. The person should recognise what they did. A few starting points:

“Thank you for Saturday. We got home late and we are still talking about it.”

“Thank you for holding the fort during my three weeks away. I owe you more than a bouquet.”

“For the whole team: the project got over the line thanks to your late evenings. These are for the office, and the rest follows on Friday.”
